KLS Martin is a leading manufacturer of surgical instruments and medical devices, and when their UK operation commissioned a set of honour boards, the brief was clear: something crisp, corporate, and built to last. The boards needed to carry the company's identity confidently — a strong brand palette of red, black, and white — while providing a professional framework for recognising individuals and milestones within the business. We designed and manufactured a suite of four acrylic honours boards to meet that brief, balancing a contemporary finish with the kind of precision you would expect from a company that makes surgical instruments.

Design Highlights
Each of the four boards was produced from 8mm clear acrylic with polished edges, cut to 600 × 1000 mm — a portrait format that suits a corporate corridor or reception wall without dominating the space. A matt black vinyl backing was applied to the reverse of each panel, giving a deep, uniform background that sets off the lettering cleanly.
All names, headings, and dividing lines were produced in matt white vinyl and applied to the face of the acrylic — the white-on-black combination delivering strong contrast and legibility at a glance. The boards also incorporate a digitally printed red vinyl header with a gloss laminate finish, with titles cut from matt white vinyl applied over the top. This layered approach replicates the KLS Martin brand colours accurately and gives each board a distinct, structured hierarchy: the red header draws the eye immediately, while the white lettering below leads the reader into the detail.
Each board is mounted on six 19mm chrome stand-off barrel fixings, set into 11mm holes inset 25mm to hole centres. The chrome finish complements the clean monochrome palette and lifts the panel fractionally from the wall, adding a subtle depth without being showy. The set was supplied flat-packed and delivered to the Chester site, ready for installation.
