Birchington Bowls Club - Wooden Club Honours Board

Birchington Bowls Club bespoke wooden honours board with dark oak stain and gold lettering

Wooden

Birchington Bowls Club approached us to produce a bespoke honours board that would formally record the club’s Kent County achievements while fitting seamlessly into their clubhouse environment. As a long-established bowls club with a proud competitive history, it was important that the finished board looked traditional, legible, and built to last for many years to come.

We worked closely with the club to create a high-quality wooden honours board that balances classic design with clear, structured information, ensuring past and future achievements can be added without compromising the overall appearance.

Traditional Design for a Historic Bowls Club

This honours board was manufactured using a dark oak stained veneered MDF panel, framed with a solid oak surround to give strength, depth, and a premium finish. The darker stain provides a warm, traditional backdrop that works particularly well in bowls club settings, while the solid oak frame adds durability and visual presence.

Florentine gold lettering was used throughout to ensure excellent contrast and readability, even at a distance. The club crest was incorporated at the top of the board, helping to reinforce identity and give the board a formal, official feel. The layout was carefully designed to allow honours to be clearly listed by year and competition, making the board easy to read and straightforward to update in the future.

Designed to Record Achievement Clearly and Permanently

When producing honours boards for bowls clubs, clarity and longevity are just as important as appearance. This board was designed to record Kent County honours in a way that is both organised and future-proofed. Spacing, typography, and alignment were all considered carefully to ensure new entries can be added over time without disrupting the overall design.

By managing the design process from start to finish, we were able to take the pressure off the club committee, handling layout decisions, proofing, and production in-house. The result is a well-balanced honours board that reflects the club’s history and provides a permanent record of competitive success.
