The Hit or Miss Cricket Club Batting and Bowling Honours Board

Wooden cricket honours board for The Hit or Miss Cricket Club showing yearly batting and bowling records.

Wooden

Not every cricket honours board needs to follow the usual format of captains, presidents or cup winners. For The Hit or Miss Cricket Club, this board was designed to celebrate two of the most talked-about parts of the game: batting and bowling.

We designed and manufactured this bespoke wooden honours board to display the club’s leading batting and bowling names across the years in a clean, easy-to-read format. It is a good example of how a cricket honours board can be tailored to reflect the character of a club and the records that matter most to its members. Rather than forcing the information into a standard layout, we built the design around the data provided so the finished board felt balanced, clear and genuinely useful.

A Bespoke Cricket Honours Board Built Around Batting and Bowling Records

This batting and bowling board was made at 1200 x 600mm, giving enough room to present a long run of cricket records without the layout feeling cramped. The board uses a light oak veneered centre panel with a solid oak frame, creating a warm traditional appearance that suits cricket clubs particularly well.

To help the information stand out, the main text and dividing lines were produced in matt black vinyl, while the headline was finished in gold vinyl with a matt black outline. A gold pinline border around the edge helps frame the whole design and gives the board a more finished, prestigious feel. The club logo was also redrawn and digitally printed so it reproduced cleanly at the centre of the header.

One of the strongest parts of this design is the structure. Instead of creating one long list, the years are broken into three clearly defined sections, each with separate batting and bowling columns. This makes the board much easier to scan and gives equal weight to both areas of achievement. For clubs wanting to celebrate player performance, rather than only committee roles or team honours, this sort of layout works especially well.

A Different Approach to Cricket Honours Boards

This project shows how a cricket honours board can do more than simply list names. It can highlight the traditions that matter most to a club and present them in a way that feels organised, attractive and long-lasting.

We help customers shape that process from the beginning. If you have a spreadsheet, a handwritten list, older boards to work from, or even just a rough idea of what you want to display, we can put the design together for you. We produce artwork proofs, help refine the layout, manufacture the board in-house and arrange delivery / installation once everything is approved.

For cricket clubs in particular, batting and bowling boards are a great way to celebrate individual performance over time. They add something a little different to a clubhouse and often become a real talking point once installed.
