Dark Stain & Cream Lettering for Maximum Impact
The board was produced from oak faced MDF with a solid oak frame, measuring 875 × 1200mm. It was finished with a dark oak stain (Stain 4), which not only enhances the natural wood grain but also creates a bold backdrop. This finish makes the board both traditional and striking, perfectly suited to a cricket club setting.
To ensure readability, all lettering was applied in cream gloss vinyl, offering a strong contrast against the darker wood. This combination gives the board a timeless look while ensuring names and competitions can be read clearly from a distance an important detail when boards are displayed in large clubhouses. The club crest was digitally printed onto white vinyl and applied to the face, adding colour and reinforcing the club’s identity.
Fixings were completed using brass mirror brackets, chosen for their reliability and sympathetic match to the heritage feel of the design.
Supporting Clubs with Friendly, Professional Service
For cricket clubs like New Farnley, honours boards are more than decoration – they are a record of triumphs and a source of pride for members. By capturing achievements from 1968 through to the present day, this board ensures the legacy of past players and captains remains part of the club’s story.
We understand that many committees and volunteers don’t deal with signage projects regularly, so we make the process simple and approachable. We can help organise names and competitions into spreadsheets, advise on spacing and future capacity, and provide digital proofs for review before production begins. This hands-on approach means clubs always know what to expect, and that the final product will be accurate, durable, and easy to update.
By choosing a dark stained wooden honours board with cream lettering, New Farnley Cricket Club now has a display that blends tradition with practicality, ensuring their proud history remains visible for years to come.
