Spye Park Cricket Club - Cricket Honours Board

Large oak cricket honours board installed above the fireplace at Spye Park Cricket Club.

Wooden

Spye Park Cricket Club, based in Wiltshire, wanted a new cricket honours board to display the names of their Club Captains, Chairmen, Secretaries, and Treasurers. With a rich history dating back decades, it was important that the board not only looked impressive but also provided enough space for future generations of players and volunteers to be recognised. We worked closely with the club to design, manufacture, and provide a large oak honours board that now forms the centrepiece of their clubhouse.

Board Design & Specification

The board was manufactured from light oak veneered MDF with a 44mm solid oak frame, giving it a traditional and durable finish. Measuring 1850 × 1350mm, the board was designed to cover a large wall space above the fireplace in the clubhouse. Due to its size, the panel had to be created in two segments, seamlessly joined to appear as a single piece.

The boards content was produced in matt black vinyl lettering, ensuring clarity and legibility across the many columns of names and dates. Dividing lines were added to separate categories, making it easy for members and visitors to read. The Spye Park Cricket Club crest was digitally printed onto a decal and applied to the board, proudly representing the club’s identity. Fixings were completed using brass mirror brackets, chosen for their strength and traditional appearance.

Cricket, Tradition & Supporting Clubs

Cricket has a long-standing tradition of recording achievements through honours boards, from five-wicket hauls to long-serving captains. For clubs like Spye Park, these boards are more than just a list of names – they are a record of dedication, leadership, and service to the game. The new board ensures that players, officials, and volunteers are remembered, reinforcing the sense of continuity that cricket clubs value so highly.

We understand that many cricket clubs are run by committees and volunteers, so we make the process as straightforward as possible. From helping organise historical records into spreadsheets, to preparing digital proofs for approval, we guide clubs through every step.

We even have a printable honours board guide for you to take to your committee meeting.

Once the design is signed off, our in-house manufacturing team produces the board with precision, and our installers ensure it is safely fitted in place. This process ensures that the club receives a professional product without the stress.

The end result for Spye Park Cricket Club is a large, striking honours board that captures their history, celebrates their people, and provides plenty of space for future generations to take their place in club history.
