SSRKCC Donors Board. Wooden Honours Board with Plaques

Walnut wooden donors board with laser-engraved gold plaques

Wooden

The Shree Shree Radha Krishna Cultural Centre (SSRKCC) in Coventry wanted a permanent way to honour the generosity of its donors. Their request was for a board that not only reflected the dignity and heritage of the Centre but also provided the practical ability to add more names over time. Recognising donors is an important part of preserving community support, so our team worked closely with the management to design a solution that would be both traditional in appearance and practical to update. The result was a custom walnut honours board fitted with engraved plaques, combining professional design, long-term durability, and the flexibility needed for future growth.

Design & Craftsmanship

The donors honours board was crafted from framed walnut with a curved top design, chosen to create a timeless and distinguished style appropriate for such a significant display. Walnut is a strong and attractive hardwood that conveys prestige, making it an excellent choice for a donors board.

To record each name, we produced laser-engraved gold laminate plaques with crisp black text. This method ensures long-lasting readability, as the engraving cannot fade in the same way printed lettering might. Each plaque was aligned using a carefully prepared template, guaranteeing consistent positioning across the entire board. This alignment system was also supplied to the Cultural Centre so that, as new plaques are required, they can be installed perfectly in line with the existing layout.

The dedication header at the top of the board acknowledges the importance of community contributions, while the combination of walnut, gold, and black lettering ensures that the finished piece is both professional and respectful.

Outcome & Benefits

The completed wooden honours board provides SSRKCC with a professional and future-proofed solution for recognising their donors. Unlike a fixed lettering system, the modular plaque approach means that names can be added as required without replacing the full board, saving time and cost in the long run. The board is also built to endure; the walnut construction and gold laminate plaques offer both strength and resistance to wear, ensuring that it will remain an attractive feature for decades.

This project highlights the benefits of working with an experienced signage company like ours. We were able to combine traditional woodworking with modern engraving technology, delivering a result that balances heritage with practicality. By supplying the Cultural Centre with a template for aligning future plaques, we also gave them the independence to maintain the display accurately over time. The project is a strong example of how careful planning, quality materials, and professional execution come together to produce a display that honours community contributions in the right way.
