Bristol & Clifton Golf Club - Bespoke Wooden Honours Boards

Wooden
Bristol & Clifton Golf Club wanted to refresh and rebrand their clubhouse, replacing old honours boards which had become full of entries with a complete set of new wooden honours boards. We worked closely with the club throughout the process, helping to transfer all of the information from the previous boards so that no history was lost. This project highlights how we can manage full-scale honours board rebranding on behalf of the customer, making the process straightforward for committees, members, and staff.

Traditional Design with a Consistent Look
The new honours boards were produced from solid hardwood, each finished in a dark oak stain that enhances the natural grain of the timber. Measuring approximately 1200 × 1200mm, the boards were designed to create a uniform appearance across the clubhouse, providing a cohesive new look as part of the rebrand.
Lettering was applied in light oak coloured vinyl, chosen for its excellent contrast against the darker stained timber. This colour scheme ensures that names, dates, and competitions remain clearly legible from a distance, while also complementing the club’s interior style. The boards were topped with shaped headers and titles, giving each piece a distinctive yet coordinated finish.
All honours boards were fitted using secure fixings and installed by our own team, ensuring quality from manufacture through to final presentation.
A Friendly, Supportive Process
For Bristol & Clifton Golf Club, this was more than just a replacement project – it was a full rebranding exercise to modernise their clubhouse displays while preserving the traditions of the club. We guided the committee through the process from start to finish:
Helping collate and transfer information from the old boards.
Preparing detailed digital proofs for review and approval.
Manufacturing and finishing the new honours boards in-house.
Installing all boards in place, ready to be admired by members.
By working in partnership with the club, we ensured the transition was smooth, with no disruption and no risk of important historical details being lost. Our approach is always helpful and approachable - we know that not every club has the time or experience to manage such projects, so we take care of the details and make the whole process easy.
The finished result is a clubhouse that feels refreshed, professional, and consistent, with honours boards that will stand the test of time.
